Horus God of war and protection

Horus was the God of war and protection. Horus’s parents were Osiris, the God of the Afterlife, the dead and the underworld and Isis, the Goddess of motherhood, magic and fertility. Horus was also arch enemy to Set, the God of evil.

The “Eye of Horus” is Horus’s symbol and the symbol of protection. There is a story about it below.

After Osiris was murdered by his brother Seth (brothers were not that nice back then) Horus fought with Seth for the control of Egypt. While fighting, Horus lost one of his eyes (ouch) but defeated Set.

He restored his eye and it became the symbol of protection. When Horus defeated Set he became the ruler of the world of the living.
